Downgrade
Downgrade refers to negative change in ratings of a security. Downgrade ratings are given by financial analysts who feel that the future perspective for that security has weakened.
These downgrades usually happen because of some fundamental change in company’s operations or current market condition, and can be adjusted when circumstances change.
Downgrades are given in the form of change in analyst's advice to their clients from "buy" to "sell" rating in a security.
