Spinoff
Spinoff is an act of creating a new, independent company by a divestiture. Divestiture is usually done by sale or distribution of new shares of an existing business of a parent company.
Spinoffs are brought into practice in hope that spun-off company will have greater value as a separate entity than as part of corporation.
