Stagging

Stagging is an investment strategy in which investor is buying Initial Public Offerings in order to sell them when trading begins. Substantial profits can be expected in hot IPO markets, when the market prices will rise significantly above the initial offering prices. Stagging is mostly conducted by institutional investors, who get most IPO shares at offering prices, in contrast to retail investors.
Stagging, as an investment strategy, also refers to real estate investments, when investor buys a property in order to resell it in near future for a profit. This is done usually in two similar ways, in short or long term. In a short term, investor will buy a mortgaged property and than sell it within couple of moths when its value increases. Second variety is the long term, when investor will buy the property in moderate condition and than renovate and sell it in mint condition at much higher price.
Stagging is also called flipping.
