Triple Witching Hour
Triple witching hour is the final trading hour of the third Friday of March, June, September and December, when contracts for stock index options, stock index futures and stock index options all expire at the end of that trading day.
Triple witching hour brings large fluctuations in the value of underlying stocks due to heavy trading and is sometimes referred to as “freaky Friday”.
