Zero-Volatility Spread – Z-Spread

Zero volatility spread is a static spread that measures the spread that the investor would realize over the entire Treasury spot rate curve if the bonds were held to maturity.
Zero-volatility spread is far more used than nominal spread because it does not assume term structure of interest rate is constant.
Zero-volatility spread is also called static spread.
