Allied Member
Allied member refers to the person that is not actually a member of the NYSE, but has granted access to the trading floor and is allowed to complete transactions.
Allied member is an officer of a firm or a shareholder with a membership that owns at least 5% stake in a company. In addition, allied member must fulfill requirements outlined in the NYSE's Rules of the Exchange and complete a written examination.
