Big Uglies

Big Uglies is a term that refers to industrial companies in whose stocks investors are not interested in. Big uglies are not so popular with investors who seek fast profits, but are appreciated within value investors, because they tend to achieve solid earnings during ruff markets.
However, these big companies, such as oil and mining companies provide solid long-term earnings and have relatively strong growth potential.
