Breakdown
Breakdown is a technical analysis term, used to describe a price trend, a moment when stock price breaks defined support level and enters sharp decline period.
When the price approaches its support level, many investor will watch closely for the breakdown, in order to short sell their stock immediately after the breakdown, because it is a clear signal of forthcoming selling pressure. After the breakdown, following bottom will be seen as new support level as soon as stock begins to rise.
