Buck the Trend
Buck the trend is a slang term for companies whose shares move in the opposite direction of the general market, or for companies that manage to increase their sales while their competitors lose business. For a company that manages to move in opposite direction of their competitors, that company would be "bucking the trend".
This term is, in general, used to describe bullish performance, but the move could be in either direction.
