Goodwill refers to the intangible assets, found on balance sheet of the acquirer and represents the amount paid for the company over it’s book value.
Goodwill is not a physical assets, like buildings or machinery, but reflect comparative advantages like strong brand name, employees moral and devotion, reputation or patents.
