Hedged Tender

A tender offer where investor short sells some portion of the shares in order to protect against the risk of loss if not all tendered shares are accepted. If a stock is selling at $20, and there is a tender offer for $30 per share, hedged tender would try to keep the higher price even if not all shares are sold.
