HOLDR
Holding Company Depository Receipt - a security created by Merrill Lynch in order to allow investors to buy a portfolio of various stocks from one industrial sector in single transaction. HOLDRs are traded daily on American Stock Exchange and its value fluctuates as the values of underlying stock fluctuate.
Of course, investors could buy all of these stocks one by one, but by buying HOLDR they are avoiding different commissions which are not negligible.
