New York Mercantile Exchange is the largest mercantile exchange in the world. It is divided in two divisions, Comex where metals like silver and gold are traded, as well as FTSE 100 index options, and Nymex where energy, palladium and platinum are exchanged.
NYMEX is often called “The Merc.”
