Quasi-Public Corporation
Quasi-Public Corporations are private corporations that were originally started as government agencies. These agencies are backed by the government in order to carry-out mandates specified in their legal charts.
For example, Fannie Mae is a quasi-public corporation, which operates in private sector but under a government charter in order to increase affordability of homeownership.
Stocks of quasi-public corporations are often available at the major stock exchanges.
