Runner
Runner is a brokerage employee, an important link between the customer placing an order and the pit trader.
When a customer places an order to the brokerage, runner will instruct the pit trader about the order, who will then execute order and pass the confirmation about the trade to the runner. Runner than informs the customer that the order has been successfully executed.
Today, there is a decreased need for runners, because exchange has shifted form floor-based trading to electronic platforms.
